Conflict Resolution / Mediation

A certain level of conflict in an organization can produce positive results. It can also be damaging. Conflict management and/or resolution is based on this premise. The objective of conflict management is to see that conflict remains creative and productive. There are many styles of conflict resolution. As a third party facilitator, Cynthia Tablak has adopted the Problem Solving approach. Key premises upon which this style is based are:

  • Conflict is natural and helpful and can even lead to a more creative solution if handled properly
  • The attitudes and positions of everyone need to be aired when attempting to resolve conflicts
  • No one is ever sacrificed simply for the goal of the group
  • Strategic Questions are key to help all parties understand that the facilitator is interested in them, in their ideas and focusing on a resolution, rather than on someone winning

It is critical that a facilitator be neutral, to ensure that the environment is safe for individuals to speak honestly and to respect all perspectives. Cynthia Tablak has been trained as a Mediator and spends much of her time dealing with communications in which conflict resolution is central.
